Setelah penyakitnya 'terakumulasi' selama beberapa bulan, akhirnya Agnes Monica dipaksa untuk 'menyerah' pada hari Selasa (24/5) tengah malam atau Rabu (25/5) dinihari. Saat mau mengambil sesuatu di rumahnya, tiba-tiba saja pelantun Matahariku itu tak bisa bergerak.

"Agnes lebih sengsara karena asam lambung daripada back pain-nya. Waktu Selasa malam sudah enggak tahan, sudah mencapai klimaks sampai-sampai dia tidak bisa bergerak, sampai akhirnya dibawa ke RS," ujar Steve, kakak kandung Agnes, saat ditemui di Ruang Serbaguna RS Siloam Hospitals, Kebun Jeruk, Jakarta Barat, Kamis (26/5) sore.

"Sekarang bisa sedikit-sedikit bergerak, tapi masih di atas ranjang. Kemarin dokter benahi asam lambungnya, kalau sekarang konsentrasi ke back painnya," paparnya.

Lalu bagaimana dengan beberapa kontrak kerja Agnes di panggung hiburan?

"Sebisa mungkin kita balik ke aktivitas normal secepat mungkin, sesuai kapasitas. Ada kontrak seminim mungkin yang kena dampaknya. Ada baiknya Agnes kenanya sekarang bukan besok-besok. Mohon maaf sebesar-besarnya pada Gigi, jadi sekarang punya waktu untuk recovery," tandasnya.

Setelah mendengar kabar Agnes dirawat di rumah sakit, beberapa teman datang menjenguknya, seperti Deny Sumargo (yang diduga adalah kekasihnya), Daniel Mananta, Raffi Ahmad dan Olga Syahputra, serta sejumlah teman wanitanya yang lain.
